Snyder ownership unchanged for now

For nearly two weeks the Police and Fire Pension Fund thought it was getting the Snyder Memorial as part of a deal with the City that would also convey the Haverty’s building to the Fund. However, City Council member Suzanne Jenkins found out about the deal and started inquiring as to how the deal happened. Tuesday afternoon, just a few hours before the legislation was set to go before Council, the mayor’s office pulled the Snyder building from the legislation. Communications chief Susie Wiles said a substitute bill would be filed that would “Take Snyder out of the picture. Anything that had questions about it — which this did — we are removing. It is off the table for now.”
