The Realtor-Builder Trade Show is expected to break records in all categories, say its organizers.
The show, which will be Oct. 5 at Alltel Stadium’s West Club, continues to grow and last year attracted 1,200 people who toured 96 booths. Both numbers are expected to be surpassed this year.
“The response has been tremendous,” said Deborah Metzig of Realty/Builder Connection, the event co-chair with Diane Moss of Watson Realty. “Every indicator points to records. We’re hoping to have 1,500, at least.”
The show is in its third year at the stadium after moving from the Osborn Center, where a luncheon was the main event.
The event is co-sponsored by the Northeast Florida Builders Association and the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, and representatives of both decided to emphasize the trade show because the attendance made a formal luncheon difficult. They also extended the hours to 9 a.m.-3 p.m. to allow more people to come early.
This year’s show will have about 100 booths and the attendees can visit the buffet lunch line from 11:30-2:30. There will be no formal presentations.
Those coming will be given a red carpet treatment and Moss said there would be surprises.
“The theme is ‘Northeast Florida, The Premier Showcase of the South’ and we’ll have some ‘movie stars’ walking around,” she said.
