School administrators, city officials and members of the legal community gathered at Florida Coastal School of Law Wednesday to dedicate the school’s new Baymeadows campus during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of more than 600 guests.
Coinciding with FCSL’s 10th anniversary, the dedication featured remarks by Dean Peter Goplerud, Professor Susan Diacoff, CEO of the InfiLaw System Rick Inatome, Mayor John Peyton and former American Bar Association President Dennis Archer, who served as the events keynote speaker.
“This college has achieved a lot of the things that we work towards as a community to become a great city,” said Peyton.
“It’s been great to watch the growth and I’ve enjoyed seeing a number of students from this school come through City Hall or working in the General Counsel’s office as interns. I think you all have done a great job and we’re delighted you’re here in Jacksonville.”
Also Wednesday was the unveiling of the school’s “Testimonial Wall,” – which chronicles FCSL’s history – and a new engraved seal at the campus’ front entrance.
Before the dedication ceremony, attendees toured the campus in groups led by student ambassadors.
FCSL’s 220,000 square-foot building opened in August, adding new technology and programs, as well as a 7-story parking garage and a 30-acre lake.
