Students from Fletcher High participated in a mock trial Wednesday at the United States Courthouse at Jacksonville. Adam Hansford (left) served as the state attorney at the pre-trial motion to suppress evidence while Dustin Lee (middle) served as an attorney for defendant “Daniel McPherson” (Mitch Kernan). United States District Court Judges for the Middle District of Florida Timothy Corrigan and Marcia Morales Howard and Magistrate Judge Monte Richardson presided over the three mock trials. The event was part of the Middle District’s “Open Doors to Federal Courts” program that also featured mock trials in Ft. Myers, Orlando, Tampa and Ocala.
