The Media and Communication Law Committee is asking Florida Bar members to assist in identifying news reports worthy of recognition at the Bar’s 2008 media awards ceremony.
The media awards are presented annually in recognition of outstanding reporting that highlights the system of law and justice as it affects the people of Florida. Work that may be submitted for consideration includes news stories, features, editorials, and/or documentaries that deal with the law and lawyers, the courts, law enforcement, the delivery of legal services, the effectiveness of the justice system, the work of the organized Bar, or related matters. All media organizations, including alternative media, are eligible for consideration. Entries must have been published or broadcast during the 2007 calendar year.
If you come across a report that stands apart from the rest, e-mail committee staff liaison Creston Nelson-Morrill with the name of the news organization, the reporter’s name, the date the report was broadcast or published, and the headline or title of the report. When the nominations process opens next January, Nelson-Morrill will contact you to see if you would like to make your nomination official. Contact Nelson-Morrill at [email protected] or 850-561-5766.
