Southbank hotel goes 'green'

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection designated the Crowne Plaza as Duval County’s first Green Lodging award recipient last Thursday. Pictured are Crowne Plaza Director of Engineering Danny Groves, Director of Human Resources Thea Pugliese, Mayor John Peyton; Florida Department of Environmental Protection Assistant Director of the Northeast District Bill Green and Crowne Plaza General Manager Michael Keeler with the Green Lodging Flag that is now flying at the Southbank hotel. The Jenks House bed and breakfast in Riverside was also awarded the Green Lodging designation later that day.
