Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5-30 President Nelson Cuba introduces 2008 State Attorney candidate Angela Corey at the FOP lodge on Beach Boulevard during a community action rally Monday. The FOP represents 22,000 officers statewide and has endorsed Corey for the 4th Judicial Circuit post currently held by Harry Shorstein, who isn’t seeking re-election.

“We’ve been very encouraged by the community going online to blogs or the Times-Union to express there opinions on crime. But we’d rather have people come together and talk about solutions. At some point, we need an organized plan,” said Corey, a life-long Jacksonville resident.

Cuba said the rally was organized to provide a forum for the public to ask questions of and learn about Corey. Also on hand were City Council member Glorious Johnson and other local candidates like Donald Foy, the Jacksonville president of MAD DADS who is running for the Florida House Dist. 14 seat currently held by Terry Fields.
