The streetscape improvements for the San Marco Town Center project are scheduled to be complete by late March.
Kortney Mosley, spokeswoman for the City of Jacksonville, said it was originally scheduled to be complete by early March.
“Unforeseen conditions caused us to adjust it,” she said. “We got approval from the City to push back the completion date.”
The project includes road improvements, landscaping and irrigation, sidewalks, decorative pavers and lighting along:
• Atlantic Boulevard from King Street to Hendricks Avenue
• San Marco Boulevard from Naldo to Balis streets
• Hendricks Avenue from Alexandria Place Street to Holly Lane/Pineridge Drive.
Currently, work is being done at the intersection of San Marco Boulevard and Hendricks Avenue. Mosley said the intersection has been closed to traffic for safety concerns.
That portion of the project was started around Jan. 2 and the intersection will reopen on approximately Feb. 19, she said.
The final layer of asphalt on portions of Hendricks Avenue will be done today. Mosley said there are four spots with intersection grids, which will be paved at a later date.
