Business Condos USA has closed on the purchase of 14 acres of land that will be developed as The Shoppes of Mayfield and Mayfield Business Center in Clay County. The retail business and office/warehouse condominium development will be located at the intersection of Blanding Boulevard (SR 21) and Old Jennings Road (soon to become CR 209).

According to Larry Walshaw, President of Business Condos USA, the project will include 80,000 square-feet of retail space and 64,800 square-feet of office and warehouse space.

“Our Mayfield project will be located on a highly-coveted corner, just north of a new Wal-Mart and The Home Depot. Additionally, OakLeaf Plantation, a 6,400 acre master-planned community, is located just three miles away. This location is quickly becoming the new ‘Clay County Commerce Center’ with dramatic residential and economic growth planned for the area,” Walshaw said in a statement released this week.

He added that the location was chosen due to projected growth in the area including infrastructure improvements that will soon be completed by the Florida Department of Transportation.

“Traffic counts on this part of Blanding Boulevard are approximately 48,000 cars per day, while Old Jennings Road has just about 3,000 cars per day. When Old Jennings Road changes to CR 209 at the end of 2007, it will open as a four lane corridor to Green Cove Springs. We estimate that traffic counts will increase substantially placing Mayfield in a prime Clay County location.”
