JSO honors officers

Hensley recently subdued a prisoner who began choking a fellow officer after the inmate struck Hensley on the head with a mop, causing a wound that required staples.

Also honored were reserve officer of the month, William Cuartero; police supervisor of the month, Donald Wilfong; police officer of the month, Amy Coarsey; civilian of the month, Alayna Tarver and corrections supervisor of the month, Donna McWaters.

Angela Bindel was recognized as the 2007 civilian employee of the year for her role in identifying a man in police custody as a Louisiana sex criminal.
