Annandale Allied LLC, a subsidiary of Annandale Millwork/Allied Systems, is entering the Jacksonville housing market with contracts to build 150 new homes using a more efficient building process.

The company announced the opening of a sales and marketing office in Jacksonville to service current customers and cultivate future orders for its 60,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, which opened in Nassau County earlier this year.

“Opening a sales office in Jacksonville was a wise decision,” said Reginald Carter, head of area sales for Annandale Allied LLC. “It’s still an affordable housing market. In fact, it’s one of the most vibrant housing markets in the nation.”

Did You Know?

• The share of new homes purchased has remained at slightly more than 20 percent for a number of years. In 2006, 22 percent of recent home buyers reported they purchased a new home, while the remaining 78 percent of buyers purchased a previously-owned home.

• The typical home buyer in 2006 was 41 years old. Among first-time buyers, the median age was 32.

• Sixty-one percent of recent home buyers were married, and for repeat buyers, the most important reason for their purchases was a desire for a larger home. (2006 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers)

Annandale Allied LLC builds components for production home builders, including custom-manufactured wall, floor and roof sections that are shipped to and erected at the home site in a fully integrated home-building process known as panelization. The company also manufactures and distributes custom-built home components such as pre-hung interior and exterior doors, windows and trim, architectural millwork and entire framing packages. Experienced workers assemble all the components on site, creating a cost-efficient and less wasteful home-building process.

Carter said the company recently signed a contract to build 150 homes in Jacksonville beginning in 2007.

Gene Frogale, co-owner of Annandale Millwork/Allied Systems, said the company expects to construct more than 50 homes in the Jacksonville area by the end of 2006.

“Our Virginia customers were selling new homes in Florida and encouraged us to expand our manufacturing and construction capabilities to the Jacksonville area,” Frogale said. “We are introducing new building processes that build better, stronger homes and reduce job site pollution and construction time.”

Based in Winchester, Va., Annandale Millwork/Allied Systems is a family-owned and -operated business founded in 1952. The company manufactures components and systems for national builders such as Pulte, Centex, Engle and Richmond American Homes.
