LandMar honored for foundation

LandMar Group LLC, the founder of the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, was given Outstanding Corporation Award at the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ National Philanthropy Day luncheon last month at the Hyatt hotel in Jacksonville.

LandMar has provided more than $1.8 million to since establishing the foundation in 1997.

The residential developer has also encouraged its vendors and partnering companies to contribute to the foundation and its efforts to fund abuse education and prevention programs for children in Florida.

According to Tanner, LandMar has committed to substantial future contributions, enabling the foundation to expand its efforts into other regions. The foundation is establishing new chapters in Tampa, Palm Coast and Southeast Georgia, and has plans for chapters in Ft. Myers and Orlando.

The foundation was started by LandMar Group CEO and President Ed Burr and provides abuse prevention education with the Good Touch Bad Touch program to over 16,000 children each year. It also works in partnership with agencies serving children whose primary focus is preventing sexual abuse of children.
