Leaders from the Jacksonville Regional, First Coast African American, First Coast Asian American, First Coast Hispanic and Northeast Florida Indo-U.S. Chambers of Commerce gathered Tuesday to sign an agreement to work together to promote business growth and strengthen the Jacksonville economy.

The creation of the Greater Jacksonville Chambers of Commerce Alliance is intended to foster economic development by promoting advocacy to address issues that impact the diversity and cultural differences of the region.

“This is a very important moment in the development of our community,” said Dr. Steve Wallace, president of Florida Community College at Jacksonville and 2007 Chamber chair. “All of these organizations have been in existence for many years, but this alliance establishes a commitment to collaborate on an unprecedented level on behalf of economic development.”
