The Jacksonville Economic Development Commission’s Sports & Entertainment office has announced the 2007 Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame inductees. This year’s inductees are former quarterback Doug Johnson and former head coach Galen Hall from Florida and former sports information director Dan Magill and running back Tim Worley of Georgia. The Hall of Fame Committee, consisting of media and sports officials from both universities and the JEDC Sports & Entertainment Board, selected the inductees.

Highlights of the inductees include:

• Johnson (1996-99) was a four-time letter winner, played in 37 regular season games with 22 starts. His seven career 300-yard games ranks third in school history.

• Hall (1984-88) guided the Gators to eight consecutive wins in 1984, the school’s first Southeastern Conference championship and a final national ranking of third, the best in UF history at the time.

• Magill instigated the “Georgia Bulldog Clubs” and was very involved with every sports activity on the UGA campus, as well as being a personal advisor to seven top Bulldog coaches.

• Worley had a 51-yard touchdown in the 1988 Georgia-Florida game and became a consensus All-American who completed his three-year career with 2,038 rushing yards on 353 attempts with 27 touchdowns and 22 receptions for 221 yards and two touchdowns.

The official induction ceremony, sponsored by Outback Steakhouse, is Oct. 26 at the Championship Dreams Tent outside the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. Corporate tables are available for sale and more information can be found by calling the JEDC Sports & Entertainment office at 630-3600.
