Since Reggie Fullwood resigned last year to run for the State legislature, the City Council District 9 seat has been vacant. That changed Monday morning when the installation of Warren Jones was the first item on the Council Rules Committee’s agenda. County Court Judge James Ruth administered the oath of office with Jones’ wife, Vanessa, holding the Bible. After he was sworn in, Jones addressed the committee and joked, “I understand I have 30 minutes to speak,” which prompted committee chair Lad Daniels to remind him, “It’s a fast clock.”
