The local chapter of the American Inns of Court met informally for the first time last week at San Jose Country Club. Named after the late Bob Williams, the Inn of Court is being organized and run by President Jake Schickel and Vice President Ben Samuels.
Several members of Williams’ family attended the event where Florida Bar President Hank Coxe was the guest speaker.
Schickel said about 60 were on hand and the group will meet again in the fall.
The Inns of Court was created in the 1970s as an avenue for attorneys to gather informally to discuss the profession and the professionalism that’s required.
