Crist signs Speicher bill into law

Gov. Charlie Crist (second from left) was in town Friday to sign the Scott Speicher Memorial Bill into law. With members of the Speicher family on hand, Crist gave his blessing to a bill sponsored by State. Rep Stan Jordan (second from right) and State. Sen Carey Baker (right) from Central Florida. Mayor John Peyton (left) and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Leroy Collins Jr. (center) were also on hand at the ceremony at the Memorial Wall. The bill guarantees education benefits to the children of American military who are Prisoners of War from the two Gulf Wars. Several area POWs were also in attendance.
