If you haven’t traveled along Riverside Avenue recently, a few pretty big changes have taken place. Mike Goldman, spokesperson for the Florida Department of Transportation, said new, very tall palm trees from California are being planted along both sides of the road.
“It is a part of a landscape project that was planned and under a separate contract from the widening project,” he said. “There will be some landscaping done in the medians, too, but the palm trees are the primary feature.”
Goldman added there are a few more palm trees that need to be planted and the bulk of the landscaping will be completed by late spring.
