• The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is hosting ExZOOberation 2007: “A Garden Party on the Wild Side” April 14. • The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida is offering summer camps at all 11 locations and registration begins April 2. Activities include a summer reading program, computer classes, arts and crafts, sports, games and swimming. All clubs are open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and camps begin May 29. • The City is looking for volunteers to participate in the 12th annual St. Johns River Celebration cleanup event on Saturday. Volunteers will spend the morning picking up litter and debris from over 20 locations along the riverfront. Volunteers will be supplied with equipment. Cleanup begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. The volunteer appreciation event is from noon-2 p.m. at Metropolitan Park. Mayor John Peyton will volunteer at the St. Johns Marina. • City Council is sponsoring this year’s Leadership Jacksonville Celebration Dinner to the tune of $1,250 making Council a Bronze sponsor. This year’s honorees at the April 26 dinner at the Osborn Center are Wachovia President Bob Helms, St. Joe Company Chairman CEO Peter Rummell and Madeline Scales-Taylor of the Mayo Clinic’s community relations department. The Bronze sponsorship gets Council a table for eight.
