Attorneys can pick up their new free County Courthouse access cards through the month of May.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will be processing lawyers on an alphabetical, last name basis from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. May 7-31. The cards will be issued in room 109 on the Mezzanine Floor on the Liberty Street side of the Courthouse.
Please refer to the following schedule:
• Monday — attorneys with last names A-E
• Tuesday — attorneys with last names F-J
• Wednesday — attorneys with last name K-O
• Thursday — attorneys with last name P-T
• Friday — attorneys with last name U-Z
(Note: attorneys may show up on a different day and receive if time permits.)
Be sure to bring the following:
• A government-issued photo ID and
• Florida Bar member number
Those receiving cards will have their photo and fingerprints taken. The card-readers will check the fingerprint against the photo to assure access.
After May, the access cards will be issued at the Police Memorial Building. The card is lost, there is a fee for a replacement card.
These cards will allow all private attorneys to have access to the Courthouse entrances on Liberty Street and Market Street. Security screening will still be required.
