Unusual Name

Ginny Peace of Keller Williams Realty Atlantic Partners married into her name and said it has been very helpful in business.
“It helps by being distinctive and easy to remember,” she said.
Peace uses her unique name by marketing it with “Homes with Peace.” Her website, www.homeswithpeace.com has a beautiful sunset on it that immediately invokes a peaceful feeling.
Nicknames she has been given since assuming her name have been “Peace lady.”
She said many couldn’t believe that was her name, even when she spelled it for them.
“They respond, ‘Was that was with a T or B? Or say ‘piece’ or ‘pease,’ so then I say ‘Peace on Earth.’ Then they get it!”
Congratulations to

Our new house is on its way
Things are moving along nicely on our new house...well, except for the concrete guys, who knocked down our fence around our pool, so we had to put up a temporary one before we were fined.
Then we needed 12 more inches of dirt to even out the lot to pour the concrete. Can you imagine $400 for dirt? The concrete guys came in, framed up the slab and dug footers. The plumber came in and set his pipes and the electricians pulled their wires. The footers failed inspection because they were not deep enough so they had to come back out and dig more. So, we had new piles of dirt that had to be spread out over our lot.
Finally, it passed inspection and our slab was poured. I got a first-hand experience as to how agents sell houses sight unseen. My husband walked me around the slab saying this is your office, this is your kitchen and I really tried to visualize what it will look like, but, with a slab of concrete with pipes and poles sticking out, it was a little hard for me.
The framers started on a Monday and seven days later we had a two-story house. They worked from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. every day and now our house is entirely framed up. It’s amazing to see how it just came out of the ground.
But, we’ve run into a snag. Our architect designed beautiful rectangular windows with half-round windows above for the front of the house, but didn’t make the walls tall enough to fit them. So, then we were stuck with two half-round already-paid-for windows that we couldn’t use on the front of the house. After talking with the framing company, we decided to put them in on the back of the house in the entertainment room. At least they will get used.
The walls have been tied, the roof is completed and the back deck is finished with stairs to the patio below. Now the electrician, plumber and air conditioner people need to finish so the insulation and drywall can start.
My husband, Frank, is putting in the windows and doors so the siding company can start. Now that we have stairs to the second floor, it is amazing to see how large this house will be! We took the children there and Josh and Sara just loved their new rooms...of course, they haven’t seen anything yet! I’m looking forward to drywall, paint, flooring, tile and carpeting. We’re looking at moving into the house in August...wish us luck!
