Womenade, a local charitable organization, recently recognized several youth from the daniel home for their outstanding achievements and progress in the classroom.
The students were rewarded for their hard work and dedication to their studies, which included A-B honor roll, at least one A and no failing grades, and the Good Citizen Award, with the winners chosen by the daniel staff for improved behavior throughout the quarter.
Womenade board members, along with some of the youths’ parents and grandparents, treated the students to dinner at The Loop Pizza Grill in San Marco before heading over to the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena to take in a Jacksonville Barracudas hockey game.
“Tonight was a fun-filled and entertaining evening for everyone, especially for the kids,” said Jessica Pozin, special project coordinator for Womenade. “These students put so much effort and hard work into their studies and that should be recognized. This was just a nice way for us to say congratulations on a job well done.”
