Sold!

That was the word of the night recently during the second annual Sales and Marketing Council’s benefit auction at the Jacksonville Marriott.

Bill Elrod of Elrod Auctions used his blistering tongue and humor to entertain the crowd while auctioning off 35 various items donated by industry members. A 41-item silent auction was also held.

The $7,400 raised went to Builders Care and the Arnold Tritt Scholarship Foundation.

Auctioned items included artwork, furniture, golf packages, a television, Jaguar ticket packages, a week-stay at a lake house, foosball table and even a six-day, six-night African photo safari.

One prize in particular, though, elicited more smiles and applause than some other items when he was brought on stage.

Jack, a spry 13-week old yellow Labrador retreiver, made a catwalk run and mingled with the audience during his moment in the limelight much to the delight of the crowd. When the bidding was over, Amanda Randolph of the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors bought the rights to the pup for $200.
