Learn to Read held its annual “Celebration of Success” event last week at St. John’s Cathedral. During the event, area attorneys were recognized for their work to promote literacy.

The law firm of Coker, Schickel, Sorenson & Daniels received the “Business Champion Award” for a variety of things the firm has done over the year. The firm was a major sponsor of the Learn to Read Scrabble Soiree and senior partner Howard Coker won Learn to Read’s annual Kiss the Pig contest by raising over $20,000.

Attorney Moses Meide is a past president of Learn to Read’s board of directors. Meide, who finished just behind Coker in the Kiss the Pig contest, received the President’s Award for extraordinary volunteer service.
