• Stellar has been named one of the top 50 green contractors in the country by Engineering News-Record magazine. The Jacksonville-based design, engineering, construction and mechanical services firm came in at No. 13. The magazine based its survey on 2006 revenue generated by contractors from projects registered with or certified by third-party ratings groups under objective environmental or sustainable development standards. The top 50 companies generated $8.96 billion in revenue from green projects last year.

• The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens concert series will feature Vassily Primakov at 3 p.m. Oct. 14 at the museum. Concerts are included in museum admission.

• Cafe Nola will no longer serve Sunday brunch. Instead, the cafe within the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville will offer five special brunches a year and the first was Sunday. Starting Nov. 1, the cafe will add dinner on Thursday and Friday nights.

• The Housing Partnership of Northeast Florida will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a big bash at the Hyatt Oct. 16. Things get underway at noon.

• The Museum of Science and History is hosting their annual Monster MOSH at the Museum Oct. 26-28. Different events include: Scary Star Show, Spooky Science Lab, and costume and scream contests. For more information on the event call the museum at 396-7062.

• Michael Connolly of CSX and Jennifer Mansfield of Holland & Knight accepted an award Sept. 28 on behalf of JCCI Forward for their work on the “Youth Suicide: Our Hidden Crisis” issue forum from Mental Health America at the University of North Florida.

• The Jacksonville Zoo & Garden’s 20th annual “Spooktacular” is Oct. 19-21, 26-28 & 31. The event is held on each of those nights from 6:30-9 p.m. In addition to the Pumpkinville Fall Festival, live entertainment and the Enchanted Forest, for the first time candy and treat stations will be set up throughout the Spooktacular path.

• Jaguar giving back: The Mike Peterson Foundation is kicking off an incentive and awards program to recognize outstanding Duval County elementary and middle school students based on their reading progress in the classroom as well as their commitment to reading. Peterson will visit Lake Forest Elementary and Paxon Middle School today to introduce the new program and to celebrate each school’s success on the reading portion of the 2007 FCAT. The foundation’s mission is to support “families of need” in the community by stimulating positive development of youth through football, academics and outreach projects.
