Mayor John Peyton and the City of Jacksonville invite seniors 50 years and older to register for the 2007 Jacksonville Senior Games.
The games will be held Oct. 1-7 at venues throughout Jacksonville.
Senior participants may enter in any of the 14 individual and team events including, bowling, swimming, track and field, cycling, croquet, golf, road race/race walk as well as team events including tennis, basketball and softball. Participants will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals within their age groups.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to cheer on our seniors and to promote a healthy lifestyle and involvement in team sports at any age,” said Mayor John Peyton. “I’m very proud that many of our Jacksonville seniors have gone on to participate and win regional and state events.”
To register, seniors must return the registration form along with the $10 registration fee. There is no fee for recreational games only.
Senior Games registration forms are available at the Mary L. Singleton Center and through the City of Jacksonville, Mayor’s Special Events for Seniors Program, 117 West Duval St., Suite 220.
