Trees, 30 of them, that’s what’s missing. Saturday, Earth Day ironically, a crew removed the trees and the landscaping from the planters on the east and west sides of the Bank of America building. Sarita Grant, property manager for Parmenter Realty Partners, which manages the office tower, said the trees were diseased and needed to be removed.

“We notified the City and got a permit to have them removed,” she said.

Some of the planters were damaged during the removal. Once they are repaired and the irrigation is reinstalled, the trees will be replaced with 15-17 inch East Palatka Hollies.

“We want to be able to maintain our Class A standards,” said Grant, adding she’s not sure when the project will be finished.
