One thing is for sure when it comes to the Booth contest: Palencia is the team to beat. The St. Johns County development has won a booth award for the past three years and Broker Naomi Lumley says it’s a team affair.
‘We all get involved and we start early,” she said. “Everyone is involved in thinking out what we’ll do, everyone is involved in building it and everyone is involved at the show.”
Last year’s booth was combined with a sister development, The St. John, and they won the “Best Themed Booth” for Hines, the parent company. Working the booth was Lumley and Anita Hill, Pud English, Lance Winter, Nita Roberts and Kathy Lee Menninger.
It was a two-story affair that was so big that it couldn’t be assembled at their office, so it had to be taken to the stadium in pieces and hauled to their space on the second floor. Several builders pitched in to help them get it constructed.
The check went to their favorite charity, Builders Care.
