The University of North Florida this week closed on the purchase of UNF Hall, formerly an America Online call center, from the Jacksonville Police and Fire Pension Fund for $18 million. The school had been leasing the building from the Pension Fund since it purchased the 125,000 square-foot building a year ago for $16.5 million. Pension Fund Executive Director John Keane said the deal was a “win-win,” with the school getting a good price on the property and the Pension Fund getting a good return on a year’s investment. “We don’t let the dog lay still long. We were out looking at more properties today (Thursday),” said Keane.
