D.W. Perkins Bar hosts fundraiser

More than 100 judges, attorneys and supporters gathered Wednesday night at the Omni to raise money for Florida Coastal School of Law graduates. The event, hosted D.W. Perkins Bar, was emceed by Ch. 12/25 news anchor Angela Spears.

Benjamin Lloyd Crump, the Tallahassee attorney perhaps best-known for high-profile cases including justice for the parents of a 14 year-old boy who died after being restrained and beaten at the Bay County juvenile camp, was the keynote speaker.

While speaking, Crump thanked attorney Wayne Hogan for helping him pay for law school. Years ago, as a law student at the FSU College of Law, Crump was a recipient of the Hogan Family Foundation scholarship for minorities.
