State Rep. Stan Jordan (center) received the Florida Distinguished Service Medal from Gov. Charlie Crist (left) last week in Tallahassee. This is the highest award the Florida Department of Military Affairs (Florida National Guard) can present to a civilian. The pinning took place at the conclusion of the 2008 Military Appreciation Day program and was in recognition of the service Jordan has provided to the military and veterans in Florida over his eight years as a member the House of Representatives. During his tenure, Jordan has served as Chairman of the Committee on Military and Veterans’ Affairs for the past four years where he worked on a variety of legislation all designed to help the military, the families of those in the military and veterans.
