Hundreds get sneak peek at Naval documentary

The law firm of Spohrer & Dodd was one of the major sponsors at last Thursday’s premiere of the PBS series “Carrier.” The series — which chronicles life aboard the USS Nimitz — started airing on Ch. 7 last night from 6-9:30 p.m. and runs through Thursday.

About 400 attended the showing in the studios of WJCT, which included presentations from Mayor John Peyton, Michael Boylan of WJCT, Bob Spohrer of Spoher & Dodd and Jerry Bass, National Secretary for the Allied Veterans of the World. Daniel McCarthy, Director of Military Affairs and Chief of Veterans Services City of Jacksonville, served as Master of Ceremonies. Also on hand were many members of the Jacksonville military community as well as members of the crew who were on board the USS Nimitz when the the series was taped
