Jaguars season ticket packages are done for the season and the remainder of available tickets will go on sale to the public Thursday at 9 a.m.
The Jaguars offer season ticket packages before the start of each season, but they also have about 5,000 single-game tickets available for each home date. There are a total of 51,000 tickets available for each game at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium and those tickets are broken into two groups, season tickets and group sales. Businesses and groups like the Boy Scouts can pool their resources and buy tickets for single games through group sales. All tickets that are left unsold from season tickets and group sales will be available to the general public next week.
“Some people can’t afford season tickets,” said Tim Connolly, Jaguars senior vice president of business development. “Other people just want to go to one game a year, so we have tickets available for individual games.”
Fans are out of luck if they want to go to the Oct. 5 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Nov. 23 game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Dec. 12 game against the Green Bay Packers or the Dec.18 showdown with the Indianapolis Colts.
“The Steelers and the Colts usually sell out early,” said Connolly. “Green Bay and Minnesota were a surprise.”
Despite the circus that became the Green Bay Packers after retired quarterback Brett Favre started inquiring about a return to the team in July, the game against the Jaguars was sold out when Aaron Rodgers was the probable starting quarterback.
“I can’t explain it right now, but that game was sold out before Brett announced he wanted to play again,” said Connolly.
The sellout of the Jaguars matchup with the Vikings was also puzzling.
“At first, I didn’t understand how that game sold out,” said Connolly, “but they do have a great running back and have been picked to go to the Super Bowl.”
Season ticket holders get first crack at individual game tickets. The remaining single game tickets will be available through Ticketmaster and at the ticket office at the stadium.
Fans can also scoop up tickets that season ticket holders can’t use via Jaguars Ticket Exchange at www.jaguars.com. Season ticket holders place the tickets they can’t use on the site and fans bid on them in an open auction.
“We are not looking at October and November right now,” said Connolly. “We want to get people charged up for the home opener against Buffalo. That is going to be a really special night. The halftime show will be something people have never seen in college or professional football.”
