It looked like Bike Week at City Hall when members of the American Legion Riders Florida Chapter 316 roared up in front of City Hall on their motorcycles Friday afternoon. They dismounted and went upstairs to deliver a check for $6,250 to support the Homeless Veterans Program, a key initiative of the City’s Military Affairs, Veterans and Disabled Services Division. The riders raised the money at their Fourth Annual Spring Poker Run in May. After he thanked the group for the donation, Mayor John Peyton said, “This is a lot more fun than what I’ve been doing so far today. It’s nice to be accepting money instead of spending it.”
