Harry Reagan, president of the Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library, Inc. (FJPL) presented a check for $50,000 to Library Director Barbara Gubbin Tuesday. The funds were raised at book sales conducted by the Friends and will be used to supplement library programs. Another donation will be made after the Great Jacksonville Book Sale March 6-8 at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds. The group sells donated books and those taken out of circulation at the public libraries. FJPL also sells books at the BOOKtique at the Main Library and the “Saturday Morning Book Sale” each week at the University Park branch library.
