The organization: The Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) works through its local chapters to provide the best commercial and investment real estate education and services, promote recognition of the CCIM designation as the hallmark of competency, and facilitate networking among all its members.
Her responsibilities: The president of a local district is responsible for implementing the CCIM mission at a local level by bringing CCIM courses to the area, providing local CCIM’s and candidates with additional local education, promoting the CCIM designation, and providing local networking opportunities.
How she was selected/elected: A slate is presented to the members for their approval. The district president must have earned the CCIM designation and be a member of CCIM and the state chapter, she said.
Meetings and what happens during them: “Our meetings, courses, and networking events average about one per month. Usually they include some education event in the commercial real estate area and some time for networking.
Her business: “I am a commercial real estate broker (Keller Williams First Coast Realty)involved in selling, buying, leasing, and tenant representation. I am also a partner in a real estate brokerage company and real estate investment company. In addition to that, I have a very active family including my husband, three married children and ten grandchildren.”
Her goals as president for 2008: “My goal is to improve the effectiveness of the local district in order to provide greater value to its members.”
