• For the second year in a row, Holland Creative Services will be included in Graphic Design USA magazine’s annual awards issue. The full-service advertising agency competed with more than 10,000 nationwide entries and secured 10 awards to earn a two-page full-color spread showcasing its work in the publication’s February issue. Holland Creative Services was founded in 1997 and provides logo development, print and electronic media advertising, branding, direct mail campaigns and newsletters.

• Burrito Gallery owner and Main Branch LLC partner Tony Allegretti said he expects the demolition permits for the old main library any day. When asked when the renovations to the mixed-use project will be done, Allegretti said his on-the-record response is, “before the courthouse is done.”

• The annual District Rotary International Conference will be in Jacksonville this year. Over 3,800 Rotarians will be at the Hyatt April 18-19, the first time the group has been here since the 2003-04 Rotary year.

• Speaking of the Hyatt, the First Coast African American Chamber of Commerce Inc. will host its 10th Annual Heritage Breakfast there Feb. 29 at 7:30 a.m. This year’s theme is “Partnering for a Better Community” and Joyce Morgan-Danford will be the featured speaker. • The Community Foundation recently released the financial report for the Jacksonville Early Literacy Endowment. The ending balance as of Dec. 31 was a little over $200,000.

• The quarterly meeting of the Tourist Development Council is set for Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. in City Council Chambers.

• Broadbased Communications and Rink Design have formed a partnership to help fight against hunger for the seventh annual “Canstruction” project. Partners in “Canstruction” raise money to gather sponsors to buy canned goods. From there, they build a life-size art sculpture from cans without any structural support. “Canstruction” will be at the Main Library from Feb. 29 to March 13.
