Florida Coastal School of Law hosted the American Immigration Lawyers Association during a luncheon Friday, which featured guest speaker Jeffrey Picker from The Florida Bar. Also in attendance were more than a dozen Coastal Law students participating in the school’s burgeoning Immigration Law Clinic.
Picker, who specializes in Unlicensed Practice of Law, explained the role of The Bar when prosecuting unlicensed attorneys, and also how issues related to them may impact immigration law in the future. He later fielded questions from the audience.
“I am glad the school provides students with opportunities like today to meet with and gain perspectives from legal professionals,” said Kimberly Mitchell, who is preparing to graduate in May. “There is so much to learn.”
