Dennis Gibson, James Blont, Jim Smith and Jonathan Burns of JEA work at the corner of Newnan and Bay Streets replacing a light. “Once a week we’ve got one knocked down,” said Smith, talking about the number of lights he replaces a week in the Downtown area. Smith said most of them are knocked down by careless drivers and it can take up to four hours to replace a light which costs about $5,000 each.
