When Beth Lipko became president of the Commercial Real Estate Women of Jacksonville, one of her goals was to build upon CREW’s philanthropic endeavors and mentoring program with the PACE Center for Girls.

It was only natural to bring in Tim Tresca, the 2007 Players Tournament chairman, to speak about The Players Championship and its philanthropic efforts.

“It is exciting to see what the tournament does for the community,” said Tresca.

He added that a part of the reason why he has been so involved with the tournament for many years is to give back to the community.

“The real winner last year was the community with $2.8 million going directly to the community,” said Tresca.

Aside from the tournament’s philanthropic side, Tresca said the exposure Northeast Florida receives helps the community.

“We get 20 hours of national and international (TV) coverage,” he said. “It helps the community and everyone in the real estate industry, because people see what a great area we live in.”
