Two executives at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage have 2007 Laurel Awards in their offices.

Carrie Budds was named Outside Lender of the Year and Aaron Duez was honored with Top Producer-Outside Lender at the annual ceremony.

For Duez, it was just another honor in a career of success.

For Budds, it was a quick start in her new career with Wells Fargo as she won her second straight Laurel.

“I have been with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage for 6 months and I feel like I have finally found my home within the mortgage industry,” she said. “I am not sure what took me so long, but I have finally reached my destination. I have worked with other large lenders throughout my 6 year career, but have never had the support and the resources that Wells Fargo Home Mortgage has to offer.

“Prior to working in the mortgage industry, I worked as a general real estate agent. My work as a real estate agent helps me to better understand what happens on the other end of the transaction. It allows me to provide my customers with comfort through my knowledge of the process. After all, customer comfort is the most important aspect of my business. I pride myself in customer service.”

She was graduated from Auburn University with a BA in German International Trade and by the time she was 21, she had visited more than 23 different countries.

“After several trips to Europe studying and seeing the sights,” she said, “I decided that I didn’t want to pursue a career oversees. I am glad that I realized that then. I can’t imagine working in any other industry than the one that I am in now.”

She added, “It is truly an honor for me to win ‘Outside Lender of the Year’ for the second year in row. SMC and NEFBA are wonderful organizations to be involved in. I credit several of my professional successes to these two organizations. I have many friends and colleagues that have helped me to evolve into the mortgage professional that I am today. I look forward to my continued service as the Chairperson of the Manager’s Roundtable committee at SMC and as a board member on the Board of Directors at NEFBA.”
