Sellin' in the rain

Considering the daily downpours Downtown last week, most of the vendors at the Hemming Plaza Market were keeping an eye on the sky Friday. Not Linda Ellis and Lisa Wright. The name of their booth, “Two Old Birds,” refers to the pins they wear on their blouses every week and they sell one of the few products that wouldn’t be harmed if it got a little damp. Ellis and Wright also own PlantWorks, Inc., an interior plant care service and both said one day they’d like to open a garden specialty shop Downtown. Until then, they’re at Hemming Plaza every Friday and if it rains that’s OK because, “We have to water the plants anyway.”
