The sign around the top of the Churchwell Building has been completely restored to its original historic look. It was the first time paint has been applied to that part of the building’s surface in about 100 years, according to Churchwell Lofts at East Bay Street President Cyndi Murray. She added the conversion of the 1905-vintage dry goods warehouse that began more than 18 months ago is nearing completion. Two floors are finished and the remaining two should be complete in two weeks. Murray said one of the new owners has already moved into their new loft and several other units have also been sold.
