The Riverwalk is different things to different people. Monday, it was a great spot to have lunch and do a little people watching. Over the course of an hour, I sat in front of the Hyatt and kept track of how many people passed by. Over that hour, nearly 130 people enjoyed a section of the about 3.5-mile walkway along the St. Johns River at lunch Monday.
“(The Riverwalk) is a blessing for the city,” said Ken Mall, who walks the path five to six times a week to get some exercise.
Mall was one of the 20 walkers using the Riverwalk from noon-1 p.m. Five others jogged along the section of the Riverwalk east of the Landing. Five more were riding bikes and another pushed her baby in a stroller.
About 120 people in business attire used the Riverwalk to access the Landing for lunch or just take in the scenic St. Johns River.
