The first SPIRIT class has been honored and work towards assembling the second group is underway.
The SPIRIT is the only award that encompasses the real estate, construction, mortgage and related industries in this area.
“We started the award for just that reason,” said Jim Bailey, the award’s founder who is the publisher of Realty/Builder Connection. “Every association has its own awards and that’s great. But we’re a publication that transcends all associations.”
There are seven categories that make up the SPIRIT acromyn. The categories and last year’s winners:
Service: Sandy Holdren, Realty Executives.
Passion: Karen Sutherland, ICI Homes.
Integrity: Maxine McBride, Clockwork Marketing.
Respect: Sherry Davidson, Davidson Realty.
Initiative: Dane Cates, Retirement Homes of America.
Teamwork: Tina Scrudato, Century 21 John T. Ferreria & Sons.
In addition, there’s a Lifetime Achievement award and last year it went to George Linville of George Linville Real Estate.
Nominations can be made by email to [email protected]. There’s no criteria for the nomination - it can range from a full statement to simply a name.
A panel of judges will select the 2008 winners and they’ll be announced in the January issue.
