By 10 a.m. Monday more than 100 people had formed a line that wrapped around the Duval County Supervisor of Elections Office on East Monroe Street. Norman Webb (above) arrived shortly after 9 a.m. and was at the head of the line for the first day of early voting. “The spirit moved me to get this taken care of so we can have a change of administration,” said Webb, a member of the Central Episcopal Church on Pearl Street. Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland said it’s the first time since he’s been in office that such a large number of voters were waiting to cast their ballots as soon as the doors opened. The record for the first day of early voting is 1,900 ballots cast and the highest mark for a single day is 4,400. “This is nothing compared to what I think we’ll see on Nov. 4,” said Holland, who reminded voters, “bring your picture and signature ID, your sample ballot and your patience.”
