Springfield resident Monica DeRosa has made the trip with her husband Thomas Berlin to the Northbank Riverwalk each day for two years to feed the birds near the Landing. “It’s funny how much you end up learning about them,” said Berlin, who counted 71 birds the last time he attempted to keep track. Though they admit the birds are self-sufficient and would be fine without their help, they’ll continue to make the trip “until we don’t have a reason.”
