The defending Southeast Police Motorcycle Rodeo champions were hard at work preparing to defend their title Monday in the parking lot of Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. Orange cones were set up in various configurations to test the abilities of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s Motorcycle Unit. JSO has 17 motorcycle units on the road currently. The unit will go on the road again when it travels to Pompano Beach to defend its title April 15-18. Patrol Officer Darrin Harris has earned the title of Mr. Rodeo, best overall rider, at the event three times.

The event was created to improve the skills of motor officers, develop a nationwide network of motor officers and create charitable opportunities.
