White hailed by Council

City Council member Glorious Johnson led the applause for former Fourth Judicial Circuit Public Defender Bill White at last week’s Council meeting. White was presented a framed proclamation recognizing his 34 years of public service as the late Lou Frost’s chief assistant and as Public Defender. “It was a great honor to serve the people of Duval, Clay and Nassau counties,” said White, who then looked at the Council members, grinned and commented, “I’m sure this is the first time I’ve appeared before you that I wasn’t asking for money.”
