The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Moto Unit continues to be the big wheel in the Southeast.

The unit earned its fourth consecutive first place team award at the recent Southeast Police Motorcycle Training and Safety Trials. Officers Doug Parsons, Glenn Morningstar, David Sciandra and Darrin Harris represented JSO at the top of podium in Pompano Beach April 18-19.

The team had to maneuver their motorcycles through five different courses that where outlined by orange cones. Sciandra also brought home the unit’s third “Mr. Rodeo” trophy in four years. It is given to the top individual rider, who must also compete in a “Fun Run.” The dimensions for the five safety courses are given to competitors to allow them to practice before attending the event, but the “Fun Run” course is not disclosed until the day of the event.
